Good news on Hope's surgery!

Just got good news on Hope's surgery! The doctor said it went really well with no complications. They are finishing up now. She'll be in recovery in a few and I should be able to see her around 11:00. Phew, I'm sooooooo relieved. I'm so happy right now! Talk to you all soon.

Yay! I kept coming back here to check (because I forgot the day starts a few hours earlier here).

We already knew she was a bad-ass metal chick! What I love about her is that she is still smiling right after surgery. You can't keep that woman down!

My dad had an incision very similar to correct a slipped disk in his neck. Did they have to push your vocal chords aside?! They did for him and his voice was funny for like a week, we had a good time with it. His also healed up so well that you can't even tell its there, it just looks like a normal crease you get in your neck. Not sure if you were worried about that or not. So glad to hear that everything went well You are such a trooper!

yep...thats what they did

hasnt effect my voice none. i just cant swallow. food, water or pills. THATS a bitch. im fucking starving. and they said it COULD be up to a month before the swelling in the esophagus and glands goes down and i have to sleep sitting up. that kinda sux a bit too. but in the end it will all be worth it i am sure. the numbness is completely gone and many of my motions with my arm thats been lost for so long are already back with little to no pain. im not too concerned w/scaring. its not like im a super model or anything lol...and my mom is a PT...and she sees wounds all day everyday. she was astounded at how good it looks. Loma Linda is known for their surgery center and my dr. is chief of surgery. i got the best of the best. that feels great knowing that

it's insane what the doctors can do today … glad everything worked well … although not being able to swallow sucks … had that once … not cool

I still can't believe that Rob talked the Dr. into removing your gag reflex while he was in there. It's great to hear about how good you're able to move around without the pain you were having before.
